in 2006, kristen saw an opportunity to close the beauty market gap between the cheap and often-questionable nail shops and the expensive and often over-the-top spas. kristen envisioned an offering that combined the efficiency of the nail salons with the service excellence of spas. kristen harnessed the perfect storm of concept, timing, and market. she targeted the massive demographic of women aged 18 – 65 with a goal to deliver what all busy women want: a one-stop-shop for getting all their beauty maintenance services in one “spot”. within three months of creating her vision, kristen and her team opened their doors on queen street west to THE TEN SPOT® – toronto’s first niche beauty bar and anti-spa.
with a mission to make everyone #FeelLikeATen, THE TEN SPOT® is a beautifully designed environment in which customers receive a range of exceptional nail, waxing and facial services and staff (“10spotters®”) receive a living wage and commissions, benefits, exceptional training and ongoing education opportunities. in order to ensure excellence, THE TEN SPOT® uses only the highest quality products and has an unwavering commitment to hygiene. the market couldn’t get enough of THE TEN SPOT®! an immediate sensation, THE TEN SPOT® on queen street west was soon providing impeccable services weekly to a growing stream of enthusiastic guests. more bars were opened to meet the demand created by brand’s loyal and expanding customer base. in 2012, the first franchise opportunities were created to fuel THE TEN SPOT®’s growth. expansion into the us soon followed. the original canadian corporate locations were sold to eager franchise partners and kristen and her team set their sights on taking over (the beauty bar) world.
